yati: Sora from the Kingdom Hearts manga, wandering around looking lost with a keyblade in one hand. (are you sure this is the way?)

In which there is not really much blood.

My report on True Blood, episode one, in list form!

  • Moving through creepy road! Yep, you can see it's a distant cousin of countless horror movies.
  • . . . American Vampire League, huh.
  • Anna Paquin: I don't think I've ever watched The Piano, but I knew that she had won an Oscar for a role in that film. I remember watching her in Fly Away Home, a film about how a girl took care of a bunch of orphaned goslings. I thought she was cute with the geese. XD
  • Well, at least the theme song's pretty cool.
  • And she was in X-Men, right? Paquin, I mean.
  • Ha. And here's Lafayette. Heh, he's funny. I've decided I like him.
  • . . . and also there's a lot of sex!
  • . . . no blood yet, though.
  • It does not bode well for the series that I'm finding a discussion in a mailing list about the Lymond Chronicles more interesting than the episode. I have set it to pause, and has probably been paused for ten minutes now.
  • Also, I went downstairs to prepare a grocery list and am only back in front of the computer now. (I should have timestamps for these things -- maybe for episode two, then.) Back to the show!
  • Sookie, XD, why you so blur one?
  • Tara is pretty cool. Crush on Jason: not so cool.
  • It's not that there's anything particularly bad or unlikable in the show, but I'm having a hard time concentrating on it. I keep trying to do other things at the same time.
  • I also like Sookie's gran!
  • The boys (in general) are rather cute. Except Bill. Bill is just too pale (yes, I know he's a vampire).
  • OK, now we have blood. Quite possibly measurable in pints. (And some more sex in the meantime.)
  • Yeah, girl, go rescue a vampire alone in the woods. Smart move, that. Very smart.
  • Lulz, there's romantic music each time Bill appears at the grill.
  • Mind-reading stuff reminds me of The Knife of Never Letting Go -- guys go read that book!
  • What, no vampire to the rescue at the end?

I shall save the next episodes for when I have the attention span for them!

General conclusion: I, uh, I honestly don't see what the attraction is, but maybe it picks up? I'll give episode two a go, maybe in a few days.
