Waaaah. My notebook's monitor just died a violent and sudden death. The computer can still boot up; I was able to log in while the screen flickered and wavered, but it's quite impossible to do anything using it right now. I probably could try connecting it to another monitor but that's just too much effort.

Now I'm using my brother's old laptop, which has an odd keyboard (and you need to punch in the key to get a comma) and is surprisingly slow even though it is actually newer than the monitor-dead notebook. (I am frugal. Sue me.) I was planning to get a new computer anyway, but the old one did not have to die -- I was planning great things for it! Like installing Ubuntu! And stuff! ;_;

The earliest I can send the notebook for repairs is next weekend. Which is also, incidentally, when I had planned to get a new one. I didn't even tell it my plans and it sprung its revenge on me! O, how could you, once trusty notebook!

Now I am slowly installing Firefox add-ons here with hopes that I will be able to manage for another week.

Here's my excuse for not watching True Blood this time -- it was on the other computer! >.<

Eh, I am with you on the frugality thing. I only replaced my school laptop because it decided it no longer wanted to boot up just after I handed in my term papers but before finals... mind you I'd had it for nearly 5 years at that point. Lately the only thing that would force me into a new computer is finding a pink one I think... nearly all laptop models in Japan come in pink but apparently because the voltage here is much stronger they tend to melt - literally! - when they comet o North America.

Hope you manage! ♥

Oh, you and your obsession with pink. ♥ (Don't they have current converter things for appliances like that?)

I think mine is already five years old. Perhaps even more. The original specs says that it had 40 GB of hard disk space and 256 MB of RAM. The mind boggles. I upgraded it once or twice, but 256 MB? How can things even run with that? XD

Oh, I'll live. Maybe not so happily, but I'll survive.

No converters, because technically the actual plugs are built for 110/220V in North America and Japan? Just the actual appliances are only built for 110... *sigh*. XD;

Ha, that sounds like my dead laptop! Although it got upgraded to 60GB when it crashed the first time after the motherboard fried itself. XDD;
